The Van Nelle Factory, admirable structure in concrete, steel and glass. Designed for entrepreneurship, designed to innovate. Event location, office complex and museum. But above all: inspiring meeting place. For creative minds, enterprising types, conference and exhibition visitors, partygoers and architecture enthusiasts from all over the world. Feel the buzz of activity: the Van Nelle Factory is bustling, just like the city. Welcome world, it happens, in Rotterdam.
UNESCO World Heritage
The Van Nelle Factory was once the most modern factory in the Netherlands. The first daylight factory in Europe. Designed to give energy. Example of functionalism. No bricks, but concrete. No bearing walls, but columns. A facade of steel and glass. A sea of daylight in the workplace. The building is designed to provide energy. The building was renovated in 2002 and is therefore sustainable in detail. Since 2014, the national monument in Rotterdam is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The time of coffee, tea and tobacco is over. But the Van Nelle Factory is now a place to work and organize events, still characterized by activity and modernity.
